Pereyra wins vote for Best Goal of Season
This poll was rather a formality. All past months’ goals were in contention but the strike of Facundo Pereyra had it in the bag! After nailing the Best Goal of December, Best Goal of 2014 and Best Goal of Super League accolades, the Argentinian striker deservedly earned Best Goal of 2014-15 season as well.
THE WINNER
There are two questions looming regarding a South-American player who just crossed the Atlantic Ocean: first, his adjustment to his new surroundings and, second, the expectations fans have of him of combining spectacle and substance. In Facundo Pereyra’s case, everything went smoothly. Despite the language barrier, Facundo adjusted in the climate and the team’s requirements in no time. From his first games with the black-and-white shirt, he responded providing solutions in PAOK’s attack.
His overall performance in his first season is deemed satisfactory. He had a total of 42 appearances (3.133 minutes on the pitch), scored 13 goals and provided 5 assists. He proved very effective, as he would score once in every four attempts on goal. He featured in various positions, covering both flanks or playing in the axis, while also contributing to the team’s defensive play with 15 steals.
HIS ACCOLADES
He was voted MVP of December and won the Best Goal of November award for his direct free-kick against Panathinaikos. His left-foot stunner at Karaiskakis though topped all charts. It was a breathtaking goal both in creation and execution and deservedly won every accolade, including Best Goal of the season.

Ergys Kace’s expert direct free-kick against AO Kerkyra was second in the vote (7,6%), while Pereyra features in third place as well, with his direct free-kick against Panathinaikos at Toumba (5,13%).
