Asteras Tripolis took the initiative after the interval and managed to level the score at the stroke of the hour. The game tempo increased afterwards with action at both ends of the pitch. In the 75th minute, Asteras were awarded a penalty for handfoul, but Koutoglidis saved the spot kick. Five minutes later, Tselepidis brought down a rival in the area and the referee pointed to the spot again. This time round, Asteras converted their penalty.

Ivić’s troops charged forward for the equalizer and almost got it in the 90th minute, but Asteras goalkeeper got his fingertips on Kushta’s shot. PAOK U20s finished their in the league marathon with a tally of 70 points.
