Quotes of Tziolis, Pereyra and Itandje

Here is what the three players of the “Double-Headed Eagle” said after the final whistle of the encounter against Atromitos at Peristeri, on the opening day of the play-offs

21.05.2015

Alexandros Tziolis spoke of PAOK’s winning mentality:

«We wanted to win. We conceded a goal really early in the match, leveled quickly and played well. We could have won at the end, or even lost. Personally I feel bitter about the result, but one away point isn’t that bad at the end of the day. We must hold on to our will to win and fighting mentality. We played strongly and passionately. However we mustn’t be thoughtless, we need to keep a cooler head».

Charles Itandje spoke about the goal conceded and the need for good away results:

“If you think about our bad moments when playing at Peristeri, it’s crazy. We need to win all three home games and get positive results away. It’s imperative not to concede points at home».

PAOK’s scorer of the day Facundo Pereyra stressed that the team need to focus on details in order to achieve their aims:

«We are satisfied with the draw point out of a very tough away match –no team will find it easy to win here. Panathinaikos’ victory is not good for us, but there are still five games remaining. We can get the points needed and achieve our goals. I am satisfied with my goal, as it won my team a point. Hopefully more will follow in upcoming games and we will eventually achieve our objectives».
