Tziolis gets “grilled” on Twitter
Alexandros Tziolis logged on PAOK FC Twitter account on Wednesday and spent one hour answering fans’ queries in a highly interesting interview.
Here is what PAOK’s international midfielder replied:
What’s your opinion about an eventual football Grexit?
«Hopefully it will be averted and that is good news. Provided of course that a solution is met and football gets cleansed».
The most powerful memory of your career so far?
«The UEFA Cup final played with SV Werder Bremen against Shakhtar Donetsk featuring Răzvan Raț back then».
It’s about money or football ambition? What is your opinion about your colleagues opting for Qatar or China?
«It’s ambition above all, but let’s be honest. Money is also important, it’s our job. For me, it’s very important to be somewhere where I feel wanted. However, far from me to pass judgment on other people’s choices».
Do you believe that PAOK will be competititve in the play-offs and capable to clinch the UEFA Champions League spot on offer?
«I am confident that the team will be at their best and will top the play-offs».
Can you inform us on the status of your injury? Will you undergo special treatment in the summer?
What went wrong in your rehabilitation process? What must you do to recover completely?
«Right now I am in good shape, however I need to take care of my groin situation until the summer. Afterwards, with a bit of rest, I will be ready and problem-free for the upcoming season».
You’re very handsome!!!!!!
«Thanks a lot».
Your best and worst moment since joining PAOK?
«The worst was getting eliminated by Schalke 04. It was a pivotal moment and a huge chance for the club. The best moment is yet to come».
How do you feel playing for PAOK?
«I am very happy to be at a big club with high aims for the future».
Do you want to stay for many years at PAOK and eventually become captain?
«It would be a pleasure to stay at PAOK for many years and –why not?- become captain».
Who is the biggest tease in the team and who the most serious one?
«Skondras is definitely the biggest tease, while Salpi is among the most demure in the dressing room».
Among PAOK youngsters, whom would you prefer to see in Greece national squad?
«It would be unfair to pick one above the others. I hope that all of them will get their opportunities to prove that they deserve a spot in the national squad».
When you hang up your boots, would you consider a post in the administration or the coaching staff of the club?
«It is too soon for such a talk. I am still young…»
Which is more beautiful, Athens or Thessaloniki? Would you come to the stands to watch a game alongside us?
«I prefer Thessaloniki. And, yes, I would love to watch a game from the fans’ stands».
Leaving abroad to play is not only a sign of “progress” for a Greek player, but also their “salvation”. How can we stop that?
«I am pessimistic, because I don’t see any real progress in that department. The Greek league is unable to keep their best players. I wish I will be proved wrong in the future».
Which of your former clubmates would you want at PAOK? And why?
«Mesut Özil. No need for me to offer a reason. He is one of the world’s finest play-makers.»
Talk to us about Stefanos Athanasiadis?
«A friend, a good guy, a good player».
Can you speak to us about Thessaloniki’s clubs and their showings in the current season?
«It’s not my place to comment on their campaign, but Thessaloniki needs strong clubs».
When will we win the league and become an organized side?
«I believe we are an organized side and soon we will be able to claim the league, provided of course that the necessary steps are taken and that there is equality for all clubs».
Which club would you like to join after PAOK?
«I don’t think about that. I am focused on PAOK».
Your favourite teammate?
«We all fight for the same objectives and are united. However Salpi and Klaus are my closest friends in the squad».
Which team do you root for and how does it feel playing for PAOK?
«I play for PAOK, they are the team I root for and I have bonded with them».
What’s to blame for the team’s poor showings after the victory over Olympiacos?
«You can’t pick just one reason, it’s a combination of factors. There was fatigue, injuries that deprived us of options and of course low morale».
How do you get on with Giorgos Tzavellas?
What is your relation with Tzavellas? Does he have a sense of humour and make everyone laugh?
«I get along just fine with him. We also played together at AS Monaco. He is one of the biggest teases in the dressing rooms».
Your opinion about PAOK fans?
«They are a very important part of the club. They help us a lot and we need their support. United we can achieve great things».
What kind of music you listen to before games?
«I adore Greek music».
