Vote for April MVP
PAOK played three matches in April, winning two and clinching one draw. Who was their MVP of the month? Vote on paokfc.gr.
The encounter against PAS Giannina was PAOK’s last engagement in the month of April. A month of hard work for the players of the «Double-Headed Eagle» who tried to address their errors and improve ahead of the play-offs. Their work paid off on the pitch.
In the matches against SKODA Xanthi, AO Kerkyra and PAS Giannina, PAOK earned a total of 7 points and improved their showing in defence. Giorgos Tzavellas’ solid performances played quite a part in that, therefore he is our first candidate for the MVP award.
He may be responsible for the goal conceded in the game against SKODA Xanthi, but in that match and the following two he was among PAOK’s most consistent players. Featuring in the centre of the “Double-Headed Eagle’s” defence, he was backed by Miguel Vítor (in two matches) and by Ricardo Costa (in one).
Our second candidate is Ergys Kace, whose strike against AO Kerkyra earned PAOK their first away three-pointer in two months. The Albanian midfielder played in all three April matches, contributing both in defence and in attack.
Last but not least in our candidate list is in-form Charles Itandje. He claimed the MVP awards of January and February, lost out to Dimitris Konstantinidis in March, but his consistency brings him back in contention for his third award in the current season.
Dimitris Papadopoulos doesn’t make the cut, despite scoring twice in 68 minutes. Due to his suspension, he got to feature in just one encounter.
