Here is what Giorgos Georgiadis said in his press conference, right after PAOK’s encounter against AO Kerkyra at Corfu.

His initial comments:

«We had been searching for an away win these past three months. It is very important that we were not bothered in defence by AO Kerkyra. We wanted to stop conceding soft goals away. We tried to keep possession, but committed unforced errors. I hope that this victory will boost the guys’ self-confidence and especially the morale of our forwards who haven’t been scoring lately. We wanted to win and achieved it through Kace’s goal».

About his satisfaction for the team’s victory:

«Our priority was to avoid conceding soft goals. We are satisfied with our defensive work. Upfront however we have been found wanting. I don’t know what is wrong. Perhaps stress is to blame. We need to improve in this area and hopefully will do so in upcoming matches».

About the performance of Mak and Pereyra and their missed chances:

«Such plays need a clear mind. Both Mak and Pereyra have a total of 17 goals! It’s unacceptable to have only Kace and Papadopoulos score. Our forwards work a lot, but stress probably gets the best of them. In such matches, it’s important to score early, as it’s smooth sailing from then on».

Whether there is anxiety about the team’s need to improve:

«I see the players focused. They want to learn. Everybody is as they should. I am not anxious. I believe that we all witness some improvement in various areas, but we need more».
