Dimitris Konstantinidis spoke to Novasports TV before the clash against Panathinaikos to be held at “Leoforos” on Sunday. Here is what the young defender of the “Double-Headed Eagle” had to say:
About the decision for all matches to be held behind closed doors:
«If only all problems were dealt with a break of the league.. The authorities of Greek sports, and especially football, must take the appropriate measures in order to tackle violence».
About the team’s preparation for the clash against Panathinaikos:
«We had enough time to prepare for the game against Panathinaikos. We also rested a while. I believe we have worked well for two weeks now in order to be ready for Sunday’s game».
About the victory over Veria:
«We sure had a tough time and back-to-back bad results. We won at Veria though and played good football. But we must remain on that line and keep working hard. Our aim is to top the play-offs and snatch the UEFA Champions League spot. We must remain 100% focused until the end».
About his performance:
«I have been trying to remain 100% prepared all this time, in order to give it all when the coach turns to me. That is my job. I didn’t feel anything special. I am happy that the team won at Veria and that I was able to help out. I hope that we can continue like this».
About the “Leoforos” game:
«Panathinaikos is a very tough team. They were boosted with some new signings in January and they have a very good coach. However, we must win and lift our morale. We need a victory in a big clash. We have to give it all. Storm out of the blocks determined to win. We have studied our opponents. And we hope that we will be the ones celebrating after the final whistle».
