Angelos Anastasiadis talked to Novasports TV about the upcoming encounter of PAOK against Panathinaikos. Here is what he had to say:
About the situation in Greek football:
“We always hope that the situation will change, but it’s high time it does and that we can enjoy football as the rest of the world. Unfortunately we do it all wrong here in Greece. I hope that all necessary measures will be taken so that our football will improve”.
Whether the league break will affect the team:
“There are issues of course each time that we prepare for a match and it doesn’t go through. We are ready for the game however, as it’s not the first time that we went through this situation in the current league. It’s a very important match for us and our rivals. They are fresh out of a huge victory over Olympiacos and in high spirits. They are at their best right now, I daresay. I hope that we can perform as best as we can and get a positive result”.
About Kace:
“I make the decisions here. That has been going on since summer and it won’t change. Nobody can say if it’s positive or negative. Things are very simple. No matter the rival, that is how the team functions with me as coach. That is my decision and I bear the responsibility. I can’t understand why you ask these questions and make a capital case out of the issue. PAOK have played seven encounters without Kace, four months without Tziolis. Let’s not linger on one specific match. The game against Panathinaikos is very tough, the rival is in better condition than me and we have to be extremely disciplined to get the desired result ”.
