Angelos Anastasiadis talked about everyone and everything in his press conference after the final whistle of PAOK’s match at Veria. Here is what he had to say:

Regarding the importance of an early goal:

“I don’t believe it was relevant. We were good today. In the first half we weren’t threatened at all and we created opportunities to score. However, given our latest situation, scoring early certainly helps. The morale picks up and players’ feet loosen up”.

About the importance of the substitutions in the team’s fine display:

“We were good against Atromitos as well. We owned an entire half. We could have won that game, but it turned out a disaster! There were good elements there as well, but we failed to score. On the contrary, we got on the scoreboard today. Despite our problems with injuries and suspensions, the team came through”.

Whether PAOK won or Veria lost:

“Veria are a very competent side with good players and a good coach. They are strong both at home and away. They have experienced players in all lines. We played as one today and won –we didn’t in previous matches and lost”.

What needs to be done in order to turn the mood around in the team:

“I told the guys that PAOK are a big club, with pressure coming from everywhere. We need to win these people over. These people will either take us to the top or shatter us. There is no easy way with PAOK’s fans. We are the only ones that can change this situation. We made the fans love us, we brought things to this extent. The sporting part either brings fans close to the team or chases them away”.

About PSAP’s statement:

“I don’t believe that what is written there is accurate. I didn’t read it, but when did I do all that? They should learn the facts before issuing statements. It’s wrong”.

About Zisis Vryzas’ resignation:

“The situation with Vryzas is also our fault. If the team had performed well, there would be no need to resign. The team is responsible for everything that happens. First me and then the players”.

About the debts:

“I won’t depart from my previous statement”. (The team’s coach had said that PAOK need to get rid of their debts in order to change level).
