The free weekend –due to the cancelled encounter of PAOK against Niki Volou- gives Angelos Anastasiadis the opportunity to work in various areas with his players. On Wednesday they focused on the enhancement of their aerobic and anaerobic physical condition. A second group of players went through ergometrics in the morning, while the rest worked on their endurance for over an hour under the supervision of Leonidas Dimitrakopoulos.

In the afternoon, the players did running and high intensity drills. They worked on their sprints, jumps, explosiveness and endurance through a series of battlefield-like exercises. Răzvan Raț followed a personalized training due to a quadriceps contraction, while Giorgos Katsikas remained in the gym in order to rest his sore leg.

Alexandros Tziolis underwent an MRI test in the groin and abdomen area for a meticulous control of the injury he has been suffering in the last six weeks. Good news is that the tests came out negative, however he is still complaining of pains and isn’t deemed ready yet to return to full training. Panagiotis Deligiannidis also had an MRI, as he is on the last stretch of his recovery. Panagiotis Glykos is continuing his recuperation program.

Thursday’s training session is scheduled to begin at 17.30 at Toumba Stadium. Afterwards, the whole team and staff will dine in the fourth floor and will cut the traditional New Year’s cake.
