Match Report

A cruel night

24.08.2017

The 2-0 defeat overturned Toumba’s 3-1 victory and saw the debutant Swedish side progressing to the UEFA Europa League group stage. It was a bad day at the office for PAOK, especially on the attacking front, as they failed to worry their rivals, with the exception of an opportunity in the early stages of the game through strong>Djalma Campos and one at stoppage time with Léo Matos.

PAOK weren’t threatened much by Östersunds FK, but they did conceded twice to Ghoddos (the first one, fiercely contested for breach of the offside rule) in the last 20 minutes and failed to react.

It is a very tough night for the “Double-Headed Eagle”, who will have to content themselves with domestic football, after several years of European competition.

Line-ups:

Östersunds FK (Graham Potter): Keita, Somi (60′ Sema), Pettersson, Papagiannopoulos, Mukiibi (67΄Widgren), Nouri, Bachirou, Edwards, Aiesh, Hopcutt (90′ Mensah), Ghoddos.

PAOK ( Răzvan Lucescu ): ReyMatosVarelaCrespoLeovacCimirot (81′ Koulouris), ShakhovBiseswar (60′ Henrique), Mak (86′ Limnios), CamposPrijović.
