A professional “hit” in Lamia

17.02.2018

Even during that mediocre first half, the “Double-Headed Eagle” managed to squander gilt-edged opportunities for an opener. Fernando Varela’s effort was cleared off the line by the home defenders, while two shots of Róbert Mak flew wide.

After the interval, Răzvan Lucescu’s players stepped on the throttle and rushed to a healthy lead. Dimitris Pelkas scored a headed opener collecting a sensational assist by Diego Biseswar, while Maurício made it 0-2 set up by Mak.

No team have been able to stage a comeback after surrendering such a lead to the “Double-Headed Eagle” this season. Lamia were no exception and the final 2-0 result kept PAOK at the top of the standings.

Line-ups:

Lamia (Babis Tennes): Papadopoulos, Panteliadis, Asigba, Anastasiadis, Vasilantonopoulos, Omo (67’ Ben Djemia), Blažić, Piti, Acosta, Wanderson (75’ Karagiannis), Budnik (61’ Ašćerić).
