Away win at Lamia with some new faces

Up against fatigue from a packed fixture list and a busy travel schedule in recent weeks, PAOK produced a professional away performance at Lamia to leave Fthiotida with all three points in a 2-0 win after a tough Matchday 10 Super League Interwetten contest against the battling home side.

Thecoaching team opted to rotate the squad and field a very different starting lineup in comparison to the previous match. Alexandros Paschalakis was given a start between the posts for the first time this season, while Wague , Michailidis and Pereira also all started in the defensive backline. Ninua and Murg also started in midfield.

The Double-headed Eagle began the match strongly, gained control and looked for an early goal, which was not long in coming. In the 1th minute Wague did well marauding down the right flank and latching on to El Kaddouri’s through-ball, before teeing up Tziolis to score and make it 1-0.

In the remainder of the first half, Pachalakis produced a good save from Tsoukalou’s header, while at the other end Tziolis and Douglas tried their luck without success, while Lamia goalkeeper Epassy denied Murg in what ws the best opportnity of the match besides the opening goal.

In the second half, Garcia’s team again started brightly and looked to lock up the three points by scoring another goal. And that goal arrived in the 64th minute when Vieirinha beat Epassy with a direct free-kick with one of his irst touches of the ball after coming on as a substitute.

Lamia tried to respond with Vasilogiannis having a couple of chances that failed to hit the target, while PAOK also had further chances to extend its advantage through ColakWague and Ingason, but the score remained unchanged until the final whistle.
