PAOK U20s win comfortably
PAOK started into the game with all systems go and got their reward in double-quick time. Gargalatzidis moved swiftly from the left and produced an excellent cross, Chatzistravos served a headed assist to Gaitanidis who gave his side the lead with a header.
Olympiakos were forced into a deep-lying role for most of the first half and PAOK created more chances for a larger scoreline but couldn’t convert them.
After the interval, the guests applied pressure in an effort to reverse the situation, but the “Double-Headed Eagle” youngsters defended impeccably and didn’t allow major danger in their box.
Victory was sealed in the 77th minute. Balogiannis collected the rebound following a shot by Tzovaras and made it 2-0 for the home side.
