PAOK U20s lost to Atromitos
PAOK U20s are experiencing a somewhat rocky start to their season, on their effort to defend their league title. On Saturday they lost 2-1 to Atromitos and have just 7 points to show for, while the Peristeri outfit lead the pack with a perfect record of 5 wins in as many encounters.
The final scoreline doesn’t do justice to the effort of Vladan Ivić’s team. In the first half, both sides performed poorly due mainly to the strong wind, but after the interval PAOK were convincing and creative in attack.
They ended up paying for two defensive errors through. In the 49th minute, Bastakos intercepted the ball from Tsiampazis and was left to score with the goal at his mercy. Five minutes from time, PAOK conceded too much space to Atromitos who doubled their lead with a textbook counterattack.
PAOK had equalized in the 66th minute with Pozoglou and afterwards wasted several good chances to steal the match through Deligiannidis and Kushta.
