U20s stuck in the mud
PAOK U20s couldn’t break the deadlock against Panthrakikos at Sidirochori, Komotini, and had to content themselves with a goalless draw. The pitch was unplayable and rendered the efforts of Vladan Ivić’s troops all the more difficult. PAOK players were in control and confined Panthrakikos in their half, but didn’t score the goal that would permit them to extend their winning streak.
The “Double-Headed Eagle” started out with a 4-4-2 formation and gained the attacking initiative from minute one. They pressured relentlessly for a goal and nearly got it on several occasions, but the ball would just not go in.
Ivić took a risk after the interval, introducing Syrakos for Vasaitis to look for the elusive goal. But on the crucial moment, the ball would either get stuck in the mud or hop on the pitch, eventually leaving the encounter undecided.
PAOK U20: Soilemezoglou, Topalidis, Anastasiou, Vasaitis (46′ Syrakos), Tselepidis, Chatzidimpas, Ktistopoulos (70′ Patralis), Tsiampazis, Panagiotidis, Pouflis (75′ Tsolakidis), Deligiannidis.
