PAOK U17s snapped out of their opening day setback and recorded their first victory in the current league. They defeated SKODA Xanthi 3-1 at Nea Mesimvria ground with a convincing display. Let us not forget that Xanthi are the defending champions.

PAOK went ahead in the 29th minute through Konstantinou teed-up by Argyriou’s vertical pass. Six minutes later, Efthymiou slalomed his way past Xanthi’s defenders who tried to stop him but instead sent the ball past their own goalkeeper. Κoutousis added his name on the scorers’ sheet in the 74th minute with a close range shot, following an excellent combination with Chatzidimpas.

Alexis Tasoulis’ pupils wasted several chances to increase their lead further –Koutousis was even denied by the woodwork in the 66th minute.

Xanthi managed to reduce distances in stoppage time with a shot from the centre line, as PAOK goalkeeper was away from his goal and couldn’t react.
