PAOK’s Under-17 side made a great start to their Super League season with a 3-0 victory against Panetolikos on Sunday morning at Souroti.

Papavasiliou’s and Taidis’ team started the match with a quick tempo and a desire for goals, and they managed to get in front after just two minutes when Tasiouras surged down the right before finding Smyrlis. His headed pass found Varela who made it 1-0.  In the 24th minute Babouras won a penalty which Tsikos tucked away for 2-0, while Smyrlis also hit the post in a positive first-half for the home side.

In the second half the tempo of the game dropped, however, the Double-headed Eagle still made chances to score and wrapped up the three points on 84 minutes thanks to a great finish from Iordanidis, who benefited from a exceptional pass from Rumanchev. There was still time for the unlucky Smyrlis to hit the woodwork again with the final score remaining unchanged at 3-0.
