Despite their bad start to the game and the early goal conceded, PAOK took the reins of the encounter and created many opportunities to score, through Tsiakalos, Theodoridis and Koreas, but failed to convert them. Especially in the dying seconds of the encounter, they wasted astonishingly the simplest of tap-ins!

Pournaras got injured in the 23rd minute, after colliding with a rival defender. Both players had to be taken to the hospital for stitches.
