Tasos Sidiropoulos (Dodecanese) will take charge of Sunday’s league encounter between PAOK and Atromitos at Toumba Stadium, with kick-off at 20.30. The 35-year old referee returns to PAOK home ground one year after officiating the “Double-Headed Eagle’s” 3-1 victory over Aris. That was the only PAOK match of last season that he refereed. He was also assigned to two more PAOK vs Atromitos matches in the past: in the 2011-12 play-offs, when the Peristeri outfit prevailed 1-0 in Thessaloniki, and on 13 January 2013 with the two sides playing a goalless draw for the league.
Sidiropoulos has been an international referee since 2011 and this season he was appointed to a UEFA Champions League group stage match for the first time (Athletic Bilbao – Shakhtar Donetsk 0-0). Sunday’s encounter at Toumba Stadium is his fourth league game of the season after the home victories of AEL Kalloni over Panathinaikos (2-0), Olympiacos over OFI (3-0) and PAS Giannina over Asteras Tripolis (3-1). He was also assigned the Greek Cup match between Olympiacos Volos and Panathinaikos (0-1 for the “Greens”).
The 36-year-old will be accompanied by Christos Akrivos (Athens) and Damianos Efthymiadis (Pieria), the assistant referees, with Andreas Papas (Athens) acting as fourth official. Giannis Tsachilidis will be the Referee Observer.
