Under-19s win and move top

A tense victory, with a twist, was the order of the day for PAOK’s Under-19 side, who welcomed Asteras AKTOR to Souroti, for the 25th matchday of the Super League. PAOK found themselves chasing the score against a difficult and combative opponent, however, they finally found a way to get the three points. Valuable points obviously, in the championship battle that, as it seems, will be played until the end between PAOK and Olympiacos.

02.03.2025

Tsiapakidis’ and Hagan’s team temporarily took over the leadership with 52 points after 20 games, with Olympiacos on 50 points after 19 (they travel to AEK on 22.03).

The Double-headed Eagle youngsters had an excellent first half and it is surprising how they did not put the ball in the net, recording in addition to several phases and two shots off the woodwork (with Balde), while on the contrary they found themselves behind in the 35th minute.

In the second half, and in the 62nd minute, PAOK equalized with an excellent goal by Polykratis, after a pass by Avrampos, while in the 57th minute the visitors were left with ten men. Another effort off the post by Mythos followed and in the 90th minute Avrampos made the final score 2-1, after an assist by Stylos.

There are only six games left until the end of the championship. Next Saturday, PAOK travel to Athens to face Athens Kallithea.

PAOK’s lineup: Beleris, Koupenos (68′ Tsiotas), Polykratis (78′ Vyrsokinos), Kosidis, Avrampos, Almasidis (78′ Stylos), Berdos (57′ Tsifoutis), Papageorgiou, Mythos, Balde, Dunga (68′ Papanikopoulos).
