The ‘Black and White’ numbers game of 2024
PAOK are preparing to begin their 2025 in a few hours and the team are hoping that the new year will be even better. Until then, let’s take a look back at the Double-headed Eagle’s numbers for the past 12 months.
- PAOK played a total of 61 official matches in 2024.
- 37 were in the league, 16 in European competitions and eight in the Greek Cup.
- They recorded 37 wins, eight draws and 16 losses, while the goal difference was 132-65.
- 30 matches took place from January 2024 to May 2024 and the remaining 31 from July to December.
- Stefan Schwab and Kiril Despondov were the players who played the most games – 57 of the 61 matches – followed by Andrija Zivkovic and Giannis Konstantelias with 56. From there, the order is Kotarski (53), Kedziora (52), Ozdoev (51), Taison (50), and Baba (50).
- The most goals were scored by Andrija Zivkovic and Kiril Despondov, who had 14 each in 2024, followed by Baba (13), Taison (11) and Konstantelias (10).
- A total of 29 matches were at home and the record reads 16 wins, four draws and nine losses. The goal difference was 71-35.
- Of the 32 matches played away from home, PAOK won 21, drew four and lost seven. The goal difference was 61-30.
- The biggest win was against Aigaleo at the Toumba Stadium by a 7-1 scoreline, while PAOK failed to score a goal in only one match all year long. This was in the home draw with Panathinaikos on 15 September 2024.
- The most popular score was PAOK’s wins by 2-0 (nine times) followed by 2-1 (seven times). Six of their 16 total defeats were by a 1-0 result.
- Four of their eight draws were by a score of 2-2, three by 1-1 and one without goals being scored.
- The most matches were in January (8) and the fewest in May (3).
- Kiril Despodov scored the first goal of the season on January 3, 2024 in a 4-0 win over OFI and Mady Kamara scored the last goal on December 22, 2024, in a 3-0 win over Atromitos.
