There are no words needed for this goal. Despondov collected the ball in the middle of the field, saw Gugesashvili off his line, and he decided to shoot, with the Bulgarian scoring an unthinkable goal against Panserraikos in Serres.
In the poll, he was up against Kamaras‘ header against Panetolikos, but also another goal of his own against Athens Kallithea at the Toumba Stadium.
Despodov’s goal won the public’s preference and took the title of Regency Casino Best Goal of December, with his direct free-kick strike against Kallithea remaining in second place and Mady’s buzzer-beater against Panaitolikos in third.
