Taison wins goal of the season award
In a season where the team scored a lot of impressive goals, the Double-headed Eagle supporters were asked to choose the best of them. The competition was fierce, with many entries and some really wonderful goals. However, the public had no trouble in deciding Taison’s title-winning strike as the winner.
Despite the intense competition, it was the Brazilian’s goal against Aris that won the most votes. In the most crucial match of the year, Taison showed why he is one of the leaders of the team. Ioannis Konstantelias started the move that lead to teh goal with an incredible run, before laying it off to Brandon, who with a magical touch, sent the ball into the path of Taison who fired home a powerful strike into the top right corner of Questa’s goal, giving the home ‘keeper no chance. This goal was not only a testament to Taison’s individual ability, but also the impeccable teamwork that characterized the club’s play last season.
So, Taison collected 62.56% of the votes and won the Regency Casino Best Goal of the 2023-24 season.
In second place was Magomed Ozdoev with 14.63%. His goal against Olympiacos at the «Georgios Karaiskakis» had a common denominator with the one against Aris. Another great team goal featuring yet another magical piece of unselfish play from Konstantelias , with Ozdoev ending the phase perfectly by ramming the ball into an empty net.
Third place went to Andrija Zivkovic with his incredible long-range strike in the away game against Hearts.
