PAOK vs. Hearts: Facts & Figures

- PAOK defeated Hearts 2-1 in Scotland last week, the club’s first win in the country, since the only other previous match played on Scottish soil was a 2-0 defeat by Rangers.
- This is the 6th match for PAOK in this season’s European adventure and the record so far reads three wins and two draws. And there was a pattern in the first two rounds with a win and a draw against both Beitar Jerusalem (draw at home – away victory) and Hadjuk Split (away draw – home win).
- Andrija Zivkovic is the team’s most productive player so far with his goal against Hearts taking him on to three goals, and 10 goals overall in 30 European appearances in PAOK colors. He is the fifth player in PAOK’s history to have reached double-digit figures in front of goal, joining a list of players that includes Stefanos Athanasiadis (20), Dimitris Salpingidis (14), Robert Mak (11) and Yiasemi Yiasemakis (10).
- The only Greek team that Hearts had faced before PAOK was AEK in the 2006-07 season. That tie was in the qualifiers for the Champions League, and the Scottish side lost both matches, 2-1 at home and 3-0 at the ΟΑΚΑ.
- This is only the second time that PAOK have faced a team from Scotland. Their previous experience of Scottish opposition was with Rangers in August 1998 for the then UEFA Cup qualifiers. PAOK, coached by Oleg Blakhin, were defeated 2-0 in the first match with goals scored by Kanchelskis and Wallace, while the two teams drew in the Toumba match.
