Fota will take over the psychological preparation of the players during the season. The Double-headed Eagle’s new mental health coach is a personal choice of Lucescu and he comes to contribute to a particularly critical area in the everyday life of a football team.

Fota has worked for various football and handball teams in his home country. He was a member of CSM Bucharest, a handball team that won the treble in Romania in the 2022-23 season, while he also played for the country’s national team, helping to qualify for the Euro 2022 finals.

He has also worked at FC Brasov and FC Rapid Bucuresti.
