  • PAOK and AEK are meeting in the Greek Cup final for the 7th time. In their last three such final encounters, PAOK have claimed the trophy and thus both sides have 3 wins each. AEK had managed to prevail in all three of their encounters in 1939, 1978 and 1983, the last year in which they prevailed against PAOK.
  • In 2017 PAOK began a special tradition and for three consecutive years they were paired in the final, something that had never happened before in the history of the Greek Cup, with the same pair having been repeated for only two years previously. PAOK prevailed in all three of those finals (2017-2018-2019).
  • The Double-headed Eagle maintained their tradition of appearing in Greek Cup finals, since with this year’s edition, PAOK have ben finalists in six of the last seven and have won the trophy in four of last five.
  • This is PAOK’s 23rd cup final, and they have won the trophy eight times in total, three times against AEK and Olympiakos, and once against Panathinaikos and Aris. PAOK have won the trophy in six of the last eight finals they have participated in, from 2001 onwards.
