  • PAOK are facing Lamia for the fourth time for the Greek Cup. In fact, it is the second time that the two teams will meet at the semi-final stage of the competition, while the other two ties were in the round of 16 and quarter-finals.
  • The first meeting came in the 1971-72 season when they met in the semi-finals, with Lamia then being the first team in the second division to reach that stage of the competition.
  • On June 28 1972 the semi-final was a one-legged tie played at the Toumba, and the Double-headed Eagle won 2-0 thanks to goals from Sarafis (48’) and Apostolidis (56’).
  • On February 6 1985 the teams met for the second time in the Round of 16, and PAOK progressed thanks to a comfortable 6-0 win at the Toumba in a match when the goalscorers were Papritsas (2), Dimopoulos (2), Damanakis, and Iordanidis.
  • In the return match PAOK won 9-1Lentas scored Lamia’s only goal from the penalty spot, while for the Double-headed Eagle the goals were scored by Vasilakos (3), Mavromatis (2), Iordanidis (2) Papritsas, and IosifidisLamia were forced to play with 10 men from the 32nd minute due to Kalenteroglou’s sending off.
