The match at the OAKA acquired a frenetic pace almost from the kick-off with PAOK opening the scoring after just three minutes, with Bradonijć taking advantage of Darelas’ assist. The home team tried to respond with a strong shot by Bilal, however his effort cannoned off Talichmanidis’ right post.

The Double-headed Eagle looked in unstoppable form, and in the seventh minute, thanks to a superb bit of play down the left by Darelas, Panidis was teed up in a shooting position, and he made it 2-0 with a clinical finish. PAOK were on fire at this point and made it 3-0 after an impressive counter-attack in the 13th minute. This time it came from Gordeziani’s perfect finish after Panidis’ assist. Panathinaikos responded in the 17th minute and reduced the deficit to 3-1 courtesy of Tavares’ header. From the 28th minute, however, the hosts were forced to continue the game with ten players, after Voutsas’ sending off for a wreckless tackle on Tasiouras.

Afterwards, PAOK B managed the game expertly with their numerical advantage, while a fourth goal duly came with Chatzistravos shot in the 81st minute, which followed an excellent piece of play and assist by Spyridis.
