PAOK B beaten by Almopos [with pictures]
PAOK B suffered only their second defeat in the league, losing 1-0 to Almopos Aridaias on Matchday 11 of the Betsson Super League 2. The Double-headed Eagle will look to put the loss behind them as they begin preparations immediately for the away game against Heraklis on Saturday 21.01.
It was a midfield battle during the first 45 minutes with a determined Almopos team not allowing PAOK B to build attacks from the defence. There were very few goal attempts, with the only notable one perhaps being a shot by the visitors that Balomenos parried for a corner.
The second 45 minutes, on the contrary, started with a goal, as in the 56th minute Almopos managed to take the lead thanks to Papadopoulos‘ header. PAOK tried to react, became more active, and the coaching team made changes, but with the exception of a header by Spyridis from close range in the 67th minute, and a shot from Spyrakos which was cleared off the line in the 93rd minute, there were no further chances that could change the outcome of the game.
