Under-19’s win again to maintain top spot
We may not get used to it, but we continue to succumb to the… awkwardness. The Under-19 juggernaut recorded yet another victory, this time by a 1-0 scoreline against Atromitos, maintaining their palce at the top of the Super League championship with 33 points. PAOK so far have registerd 11 wins and one loss in 12 games.
Malezas’ and Chatziathanasiou’s side needed only one goal to secure the three points, even though they did have some good opportunities to increase their winnng margin. What would have been pleasing for the coaches is that they were barely threatened throughout, even though the goalscorer Taxiarchis Filon was sent off in the 90th minute.
International defender Filon scored the winning goal in the 36th minute with an impressive headed strike, taking advantage of Deligiannis‘ assist.
The next game for the Under-19 side is in Athens against Ionikos.
