Under-19’s make it five out of five

Despite falling behind, PAOK’s Under-19 side found a way to turn the match in their favor and defeat Levadiakos 3-2 in Livadeia on Saturday. The result means Malezas and Chatziathanasiou’s young guns maintained their 100 per cent record after five games, and they are now already preparing for the next match against Olympiacos.

The home side started well and took an early lead in the 14th minute. PAOK responded immediately, just two minutes later however, with Gitersos scoring following an assist from Babouras. The Double-headed Eagle then regrouped and began to dominate the game, without however managing to take the lead before the half-time break.

The second 45 minutes was more satisfying for the visitors though, with Filon scoring with a header to put PAOK ahead for the first time in the 67th minute. Levadiakos, however, brought the game back on levle terms in the 70th minute, only for Gitersos to come back again with the answer in the 78th minute and score to secure victory for PAOK with brilliant scissor-kick finish.

The Double-headed Eagle sit atop the Super League standings with 15 points, and the next matchday sees the team head down to Athens to face Olympiacos.

PAOK lineup:

Angelidis, Georgiadis, Deligiannis, Passachidis, Filon, Scznaucner, Goumas, Athanasiou (55′ Kalogiros), Gitersos, Babouras (90′ Vassiliadis), Adam.
