Regency Casino Best Goal of the Season
Ten wonderful goals, nine scorers, one award. Paokfc.gr and the PAOK FC Official App, in collaboration with Regency Casino, are looking for the Best Goal of the 2021-22. You will decide the final winner.
Razvan Lucescu’s PAOK scored 85 goals in the 59 games they played last season. We sat down and made a first selection, picking out what we feel are the top 10 strikes. Now it is your turn to help us vote for the final award winner.
Jasmin Kurtic, the Double-headed Eagle’s top scorer in the 2021-22 season, is the only player with two goals in the final 10. The Slovenian is in the running with his beautiful free-kick at «Leoforos» against Panathinaikos, and with his incredible strike at OAKA against AEK in the quarter-finals of the Greek Cup.
Andrija Zivkovic is another candidate with his exemplary strike on the counter-attack in the away game against Copenhagen.
Chuba Akpom could not be left out with his powerful run and skillful finish against Larissa at the Toumba in the Greek Cup.
Joan Sastre is also involved in the conversation. The Spanish right-back found the net twice in his first season. The second was in the derby at the Toumba against Panathinaikos, where he clinched victory with a stuning long-distance effort.
Also in the running for the prize are Alexandru Mitrita’s great effort against AEK at the OAKA, while the two European away goals scored by Douglas Augusto and Omar El Kaddouri against Gent and Marseille respectively.
Andre Vieirinha is the only contender involved who has won the award also in the past. The Leader wants to repeat his success of the 2018-19 season and his goal against FC Midtjlland gives him a chance.
Finally, the list also includes Colak’s goal at the «Georgios Karaiskakis» that gave PAOK their ticket to the Greek Cup final. A goal that may not be impressive in execution in itself, but which came from an excellent team effort.
