PAOK B had to settle for a point in a goalless home draw with Triglia on Sunday in what was a sluggish game in terms of scoring chances at the Makedonikos Stadium on Matchday 20 of the Betsson Super League 2.

20.02.2022

Despite only picking up one point instead of three, the result saw PAOK continue of course there unbeaten run in 2022 which now stretches to nine games, and they are now already preparing for the previously postponed game with Olympiacos Volos, which takes place in Volos, on 23.02.

On Sunday afternoon at the Makedonikos Stadium, there was a lack of quality from both teams, and the 0-0 draw was probably a fair result – although in the first quarter it seemed that things would go differently, as there was plenty of mobility from PAOK. The hosts threatened in the eighth and in the ninth minutes through Tachatos and Koulierakis, but after that point the rhythm of the game then dropped with the two teams being consumed in a midfield war of attrition.

In the second half, a free-kick from the visitors saw some anxious moments in the home defence, but it was eventually dealt with by Talichmanidis. In the 68th minute, the Double-headed Eagle missed a good chance to open the scoring with Ouendraogo guilty of profligacy in front of goal. Also noteworthy was a free-kick by Tachatos, which was saved by visiting ‘keeper Palavrakis.

Team lineups:

PAOK B: Talichmanidis, Apostolopoulos, Manolioudis, Koulierakis, Panagiotou (Giaxis 46), Ouendraogo, Salamouras (Gordeziani 80), Fasidis (Tsaousis 46), Tachatos, Tzimas (Smyris 78).

Triglia: Palavrakis, Panagou, Pelion, Papasterianos, Kostoulas, Patralis, Napolitano (Papadopoulos 88), Totska (Giubitana 72), Bastakos (Alexic 60), Tomas, Kakko.
