Emphatic victory for PAOK B [with pictures]

PAOK B enjoyed themselves on a sunny afternoon in Efkarpia, scoring three goals and hitting the woodwork twice en route to a convincing 3-0 win over Apollon Larissa – a result which saw them return to winning ways in the Betsson Super League 2.

PAOK began to threaten the visitor’s goal early on, with a shot from Koutsias in the 15th minute and anotther from Chatzistravos two minutes later. The latter’s effort struck the crossbar. Next it was Gordeziani’s turn to threaten with two good chances in the 29th and 30th minutes, befiore Tsopouroglou played in Chatzistravos in the 31st minute to open the scoring.

From the 35th minute, PAOK played with a numerical advantage as Astras was sent off due for handling the ball outside of his penalty area in his attempt to stop Koutsias. As a result, the home side played with even more freedom.

In the second half, PAOK obviously became more aggressive and even more threatening. The chances came thick and fast for the home side, with Gordeziani dribbling past three opponents before passing to Chatzistravos, whose shot went wide. It was only a matter of time before another goal arrived, and it duly came in the 67th minute, with Panidis doing some good work down the right side and finding Koutsias, who scored with a header to make it 2-0.

Dimitris Panidis also got himself on the scoresheet for the third goal in the 76th minute, firing home from the edge of the penalty area after completing an impressive run and dribble. PAOK still searched for more goals, but Tzimas’ effort in the 82nd minuite was thwarted by the frame of the goal.

PAOK B’s next game is the postponed home match against Kavala next Wednesday (09.02) at the Makedonikos Stadium.
