Under-19s beaten by Panathinaikos
Despite producing a strong first-half performance against Panathinaikos in Athens, PAOK could not convert their chances and were made to pay dearly with the home side scoring two quick-fire second half goals to win the game 2-0.
PAOK were the better team in the first 45 minutes, looking the more composed and threatening team. The visitors created and contrived to miss at least three very good chances to score, however they did not take advantage of this first-half superiority.
On the contrary, the hosts significantly increased their performance in the second half, and unlike PAOK, the greens took advantage of their opportunities, scoring in the 56th and 60th minutes – a feat that saw the gameall but ended as a contest within a five-minute spell. The Double-headed Eagle tried to get back into the game and went close to scoring, but they were denied by the crossbar, and as such their hopes of finding a route back were extinguished.
