Decisiveness, passion, desire, intensity. PAOK had all of those in abundance and managed to celebrate a 2-0 win over Panathinaikos at the Toumba, taking a significant step towards booking a place in the semi-finals of the Greek Cup.

One of the major protagonists of the match was Adelino Vierinha. This time the captain was called upon to play in a right-back role and he was a joy to watch. Full of running and a major influence in the team’s build-up play, he also scored the first goal from the penalty spot and generally was the most influential player on the night.

In the voting for the Fans’ Man of the Match via paokfc.gr and the PAOK FC Official App, Vieirinha collected 52,25% of the votes to win the award.

In second place was Lazaros Lamprou, who was recognized for his lung-busting efforts, even if he did contrive to miss several good chances to score. Third was Josip Misic, who returned to his role as a No.8 and was as solid as ever in midfield.
