Manolis Papakostas moves on to Aspetar

Transfers are no longer just for footballers and recognition – through PAOK – comes regardless of position. Manolis Papakostas, who has been the head of the medical team for three and a half years, will continue his career as an orthopedic surgeon at one of the world’s leading medical organizations, Aspetar.

29.12.2019

Aspetar is based in Qatar and is considered the number one specialized orthopedic and sports clinic in the world, working with clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain, as well as with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and bringing together some of the leading physicians in their respective fields.

And among them will be Manolis Papakostas, who during his time at PAOK reformed the functions of the medical staff, placed a heavy emphasis on injury prevention, and on the recovery and recuperation of players so that they can boost their availability rates up to as much as 99% throughout the entire season.

Papakostas’ move to Aspetar also opens the way for PAOK’s broader cooperation with Aspetar in the recovery and rehabilitation of the the team’s players.

Pakakostas will be replaced by the orthopedist Makis Papasoulis as a natural continuation of the football team’s medical set-up and cooperation with TheMis Medical Center, to ensure that the team’s proper functioning and proper maintenance continues, following the protocol that has been applied for the last three seasons.
