Pelkas’ inspiration
It’s not something new or pioneering, but it’s always impressive to see. What are we talking about? The Panenka penalty, of course. Dimitris Pelkas cheekily took it upon himself to try one and score, winning the nak Play of the Month award for October for his efforts.
PAOK’s club captain came off the bench in the match against Volos, and just a few minutes later Dimitris Limnios won a penalty. Pelkas picked up the ball, placed it on the spot and nonchalantly chipped the ball into the net Panenka-style.
As a result, The Joker, as he is nicknamed, garnered 44.69% of the votes in the poll ran via paokfc.gr to earn October’s nak Play of the Month. Miroslav Stoch came in second place with his backheel, and Zivko Zivkovic came in third with his impressive tackle, both of which came from the match against Volos.
