Under-19’s hit four in comeback win over Larissa

The Under-19 side may have fallen behind, but a superb second-half display earned Pablo Garcia’s side a stunning 4-1 victory over Larissa at Souroti on Matchday 11 of the Super League.

23.11.2019

And so the winning streak continues. PAOK’s Under-19 team defeated Larissa 4-1, a result which extended its unbeaten run to 58 games in Greece and means it continues to lead the Super League title race.

Garcia’s and Miroslav Schnauzner’s players made a decent start but despite having plenty of possession and creating a couple of solid opportunities, a goal was not forthcoming. Larissa, on the other hand, scored from their first real chance in the 27th minute through Kamberi’s brilliant strike.

Thankfully, PAOK’s response was immediate and Pournaras leveled matters a minute later with a close-range shot on the rebound following Pipiliaris’ effort.

After half-time, PAOK moved through the gears and managed to turn the match around completely, largely thanks to a couple of changes made by Garcia.

Koutsias produced two excellent flicked assists for Tziolis in the 60th and 68th minutes to make the scores 3-1 in PAOK’s favor. Tsopourglou added the fourth on the rebound from Doumtsis’ shot in the 70th minute, and shortly afterwards Gorteziani was denied by the woodwork.

PAOK held firm to claim another three-point haul, and the team is now already looking ahead to the second leg of their UEFA Youth League clash against Dynamo Kyiv at the Toumba on Wednesday (27.11, 17:00)

PAOK Under-19’s line-up: Balomenos, Panagiotou (59′ Koutsias), Michailidis, Kaloutsikidis, Tachatos, Tsiggaras, Doumtsis (66′ Gorteziani), Theodoridis, Pipiliaris (46′ Tzolis), Pournaras (66′ Tsopouroglou), Panidis (59′ Grosdis
