Five minutes were enough for PAOK U19s

Five magical minutes and three beautiful goals shortly before the interval proved enough for PAOK U19s. They prevailed 4-0 over AEK Athens in Souroti for matchday 4 of the Super League.

PAOK started strongly into the encounter and wasted two good chances for an opener in the first five minutes. The goalkeeper of AEK 19s reacted well both in the shot by Chatzistravos and the effort of Doumtsis.

The visitors then took control of proceedings, closed down spaces, pressured high up the pitch and created chances they failed to finish.

In the 37th minute, Pablo García’s troops stole the ball with Tzovaras. The latter passed it to Gaitanidis who made it 1-0 with a splendid finish against the run of play.

Two minutes later, PAOK had their second goal with Tzovaras and Gaitanidis switching roles. Gaitanidis created the opportunity and Tzovaras provided the finish. In the 41st minute, the same players in the same roles made it 3-0, Tzovaras scoring with an impressive header. Within five minutes, PAOK’s victory was all but sealed.

AEK tried to react after the interval, but PAOK players controlled the match impeccably, boosted by their healthy lead. They even scored a fourth goal in the 86th minute, as Michailidis connected with Lyratzis through a 40-metre cross and the latter made it count with a powerful shot. Chatzistravos and Tsaousis even wasted three more opportunities for a larger victory.
