Matos’ strike lands Regency Casino Best Goal of January award
Léo Matos’s effort that paved the way for PAOK’s victory over Levadiakos was voted “Regency Casino Best Goal of January” in the poll organized by paokfc.gr and PAOK FC Official App.
PAOK defeated Levadiakos 3-0 in Toumba, a comfortable victory combining spectacular plays and effectiveness. Vladan Ivić’s troops started strongly into the encounter, but they needed their rearguard’s help in order to tear down Levadiakos’s defensive wall.
Léo Matos scored yet another goal, becoming PAOK’s top scorer in the current season. This goal was not only important, but amazing as well. Set up by Diego Biseswar’s long cross, he broke free at the back of the defenders, controlled the ball with his chest but didn’t leave it touch the ground –he volleyed it past the goalkeeper with a flawless finish. This strike was also voted Best Goal of that matchday.
In the poll held by paokfc.gr and PAOK FC Official App for Regency Casino Best Goal of January, the effort of the Brazilian full-back landed top spot with 57,66% of the vote. Panagiotis Deligiannidis’s powerful drive against Panetolikos in Toumba was second, while Giannis Mystakidis’s winner in Agrinio got third place.
