U17s prevail in Veria
The U17 side returned to winning ways, by prevailing 4-1 in Veria. They climbed in second place of the standing with 17 points, trailing leaders PAS Giannina by two.
Veria U17s took the lead from the spot after 36 minutes of play, but the troops of Vasilis Mittas and Vasilis Kanaras reacted quickly and leveled the encounter in the 41st minute with a fine direct free kick by Vrakas. In the first minute of the second half, Gargalatzidis made the most of Gaitanidis’s cross and scored PAOK’s second goal. The latter turned from provider to scorer eight minutes later, teed up by Lyratzis who then went on to seal the team’s 4-1 victory, assisted by Gargalatzidis.
