A typical procedure
The ticket was issued in Tbilisi and stamped in Toumba Stadium as expected. The 2-0 victory over FC Dinamo Tbilisi merely confirmed PAOK’s participation in the UEFA Europa League group stage.
PAOK’s 3-0 victory in the first leg turned the second one into a formality, but Vladan Ivić wanted his players to show their consistency on the pitch at this time of the season.
They did what he asked of them and took an early lead in the 5th minute through Garry Rodrigues. The Cape Verde player initiated play from the left, played 1-2 with Facundo Pereyra and shot past Scribe for the opener.
Djalma Campos had his spot kick saved, but two minutes later –just before the interval- Giorgos Tzavellas connected a Pereyra corner and his header made it 2-0, putting the game beyond reach for the Georgian outfit.
The second half was just a technicality and gave Ivić the opportunity to try out some things on the pitch.
PAOK excelled in their play-off commitment and they are now eagerly awaiting for the UEFA Europa League draw.
