Diego Biseswar joins PAOK

PAOK FC announce the signing for Diego Biseswar. The 28-yer old Dutch winger penned a three-year deal and will wear the No21 shirt.

30.06.2016

Born on 8 March 1988 in Amsterdam to a family descending from Suriname, Diego Biseswar started kicking a ball around at the age of 5 at the ranks of amateur side DWS. He stayed there for one season and at the age of 6 he crossed the threshold of the renowned AFC Ajax Academy. After five years there and finding it difficult to obey to the expectations of his coaches there, he returned to his first club, DWS. He then joined Telstar and eventually landed at Feyenoord in 2001.

He fit well at the Rotterdam side, he enjoyed football and was able to showcase his talent. In 2004 he signed his first professional contract and in the last game of the season he made his senior debut, getting the nod by Ruud Gullit who threw him in at the deep end in his side’s 6-3 win over Den Haag.

He remained at Feyenoord until 2012, spending two seasons on loan at Heracles (2006-07, 2 goals in 26 matches) and De Graafschap (2007-08, 12 matches). He returned to Rotterdam and became a vital cog in his team. Sheffield United failed to produce the sum that the Dutch were asking for Biseswar, the player himself turned AFC Ajax down not wanting to return to the Amsterdam club, while Valencia CF didn’t continue negotiations in 2009.

Biseswar left Feyenoord when his contract expired in 2012, conjuring up 18 goals in 108 encounters. He His next destination was Turkey, as he signed for Kayserispor, where he got to stay for four years – yet another indication that he bonds with the clubs who trust in him. He featured in 116 games in Turkey and scored 18 goals. He played alongside Αlexandros Tziolis from January to June 2014 and he was a teammate of Garry Rodrigues at Feyenoord.

He has featured in all youth sides of the Netherlands and also in B-international level with the seniors.
