PAOK U20s triumph 6-2 over Iraklis
PAOK U20s’ attacking line thrashed Iraklis’s defence. It was a spectacular victory enjoyed by those who attended the match at PAOK FC Sports Centre at Nea Mesimvria. Stelios Pozoglou returned to action after a long time on the sidelines due to injury.
PAOK enjoyed a dream start. They were already leading 3-0 in the first 13 minutes. Pantekidis scored the opener just six minutes after the start in a set piece initiated by Panagiotidis’ corner. Three minutes later, Deligiannidis produced a stunning defense-splitting pass of 40 meters to Dimitriadis who just had the goalkeeper to beat, and did so in style. In the 13th minute, teed up by Kakko, Kushta needed a double effort on goal but managed to make it 3-0. Iraklis reacted and reduced distances in the 28th minute.
The second half started just as the first one. Dimitriadis intercepted the ball in midfield and fed Kakko who made it 4-1 in the 50th minute. The visiting side restored their two-goal deficit in the 65th minute from the spot, following a penalty committed by Dodontsakis. But PAOK didn’t take long to respond. Dimitriadis once again gained possession in midfield, advanced to Iraklis’ box, broke free of two rivals and beat the goalkeeper for the fifth goal.
Last but not least, the sixth goal of PAOK was a beauty. In the 88th minute, the team combined superbly and Pozoglou completed the play by scoring. The midfielder of PAOK, who had been out of action for a long time due to injury, was introduced on the pitch in the 55th minute and provided quality to Vladan Ivić’s squad.
