FC Krasnodar – PAOK: Referee
Arnold Hunter has been appointed by UEFA to referee the encounter of PAOK at Krasnodar for matchday 4 of the UEFA Europa League.
The 35-year old veteran goalkeeper was forced to retire from football due to a serious injury. His uncle, a referee himself for over 25 years, urged him to follow on his footsteps.
He started his professional career in refereeeing in 2001 and would leap through tiers. In 2011 he earned his FIFA badge, as successor of his famous countryman Davie Malcolm, and was gradually assigned more important games.
He made his UEFA Europa League debut in 2011 with a 1st qualifying round tie and has so far handled three group stage matches of the competition. In the current season, he got his first taste of UEFA Champions League qualifying action. He has also refereed qualifying matches for the FIFA World Cup and the Euro.
Hunter will be accompanied by Richard Storey and Andrew Neeson, the assistant referees, with Stephen Bell acting as fourth official. Raymond Crangle and Mervyn Smyth complete the team as additional assistant referees.
Jozef Marko of Slovakia will be the UEFA Referee Observer, while Slovenian Radenko Mijatovic has been appointed UEFA Delegate for the match.
