Lesson learned ahead of upcoming games
The game against Iraklis ended in a cruel yet instructive fashion that will prove useful as PAOK are building their new team. What happened at Kaftanzoglio Stadium is in the past and the players’ effort continues intensively.
Time is of the essence, as PAOK face a string of demanding encounters against Krasnodar, Panathinaikos, Panthrakikos and away at Asteras Tripolis. On the aftermath of the match against Iraklis, players continued their work in order to improve with each game.
Those who featured in the starting line-up in Kaftanzoglio followed a special decompression and recovery program under the guidance of Paolo Artico. Dimitar Berbatov and Giorgos Tzavellas remained in the gym for physiotherapy and stationary bike, as both sustained knocks in Sunday’s match. Their condition will be reevaluated on Tuesday 20 October.
The remaining players worked in high intensity, going through physical condition drills, circulation games in reduced space and a training match in half pitch with 5-a-side teams.
Dimitris Konstantinidis followed a special recovery program, ball exercises included, while Gojko Cimirot is training at a higher tempo, on his way to return to action. Stelios Kitsiou, Κyriakos Savvidis and Giannis Mystakidis did physiotherapy and muscular strengthening exercises.
