Iraklis – PAOK: Berbatov in the mixed zone
A striker of his caliber has faced numerous situations like this. He missed the spot kick that would seal PAOK’s victory. However Dimitar Berbatov is not getting disappointed, as he considers everything as part of football. The Bulgarian forward spoke to Novasports TV after the final whistle of the game against Iraklis about the game and the upcoming matches.
On the encounter:
«It was a tough match with hard-fought duels. We were unlucky to take the lead in the end and fail to hold on to victory. I believe that their equalizer should be disallowed for foul suffered by our goalkeeper. We are now focusing on our next game. I told my teammates that these things happen. We deserved to win, but sometimes even one point is better than nothing. We have a new team and that can happen. But we fight as team. We were unlucky but that’s over now«.
On his own performance:
«I like to play as I did today, sometimes stepping out of the box. When older, a player needs to get more space in order to have a clearer image of the game. I like to play like that and pass the ball to my faster teammates«.
On the result and whether it is a sign of trouble:
«I don’t believe something is wrong. There are many matches, we have lots of young players and we learn from our mistakes. We play as a team, we look ahead to the future. There is no reason to dwell on it«.
