“Focused on every game”
Matchday 4 MVP has already his sights on matchday 5. Garry Rodrigues spoke to Novasports TV about the upcoming encounter against Atromitos and elaborated on how back-to-back games and the visit of Dortmund affect the players. Here is what the Cape Verde international said:
On the fact that PAOK face a second demanding game in four days, against a tough opponent like Atromitos:
«It’s normal for a team like PAOK, who also feature in the UEFA Europa League, to have back-to-back games. The match against Atromitos is demanding, we need to be focused, stay united and take a breather, in order to respond to the challenge of a very important game«.
On whether there is more physical or psychological fatigue right now:
«It depends on the level of preparation and varies from player to player. We are all professional footballers and need to prepare right and take a good rest between games. It’s normal, as big clubs negotiate two or even three games per week«.
On whether players are already thinking about Dortmund before the Atromitos game:
«No, I don’t think so. We take it one game at a time. All matches are important, either against Barcelona, either against PAS Giannina –we are playing for our club. We must face each game separately. This league game is very important to us«.
